This surprises most people: your body generates cells with cancer-causing mutations every single day. Yet most of the time, your immune system eliminates them before you ever feel a thing.
This process is called immune surveillance. NK cells and T cells patrol the entire body continuously, scanning cell surface signals. Normal cells carry a set of normal identity markers.
