CAR-T changed the treatment rules for blood cancers — where will it go in the next decade?
编辑部精选 · 一分钟理解
In 2017, the first CAR-T therapy gained FDA approval and was hailed as 'immunotherapy's miracle.'
In certain blood tumors, it truly was miraculous — for relapsed/refractory B cell leukemia previously with almost no treatment options, it achieved over eighty percent complete remission rates.
But it has real limitations: only effective for some patients; minimal effect in solid tumors; individualized manufacturing takes weeks and is extraordinarily expensive; side effects (CRS, ICANS) can be life-threatening.
The next decade, CAR-T is evolving. Its evolution directions directly relate to cancer immunotherapy's accessibility for broader patient populations, and integration prospects with NK cell therapy, gene editing, nanotechnology, and other frontier technologies.
This article is CAR-T's future technology roadmap.
