May 22, 2026Berlin Longevity Congress New Consensus: Aging Is "Systemic Dysregulation," Not a Single Defect
The 2nd World Congress on Targeting Longevity 2026 was held in Berlin on April 8–9, bringing together international scientists from the fields of mitochondrial biology, gut microbiota, and redox biology, who reached an important consensus: the essence of aging is the gradual breakdown of coordinated dialogue between metabolism, immunity, mitochondria, and microbial ecosystems — not the failure of any single pathway. This conceptual shift signals that the "one drug to reverse aging" approach is being abandoned, and future research will focus on system-level resilience.
