Total lifespan's upper limit is constrained by multiple biological systems aging synchronously; the immune system is just one of them.

Yes, in several specific ways. First, mRNA vaccine platform's large-scale validation compressed what might have been a ten to fifteen year maturation period to three to five years — directly driving accelerated development of mRNA-based HIV vaccines, personalized tumor vaccines, and RSV vaccines. Second, the global real-time genomic monitoring network established during COVID (GISAID etc.) provides infrastructure for future responses to novel pathogens. Third, Long COVID research drove large-scale investment in chronic infection immunology, viral persistence mechanisms, and post-infection autoimmunity — these findings will benefit other chronic disease understanding. Fourth, scientific community investment in mRNA technology (hundreds of billions of dollars) will continue producing technology spillover effects, accelerating the entire nucleic acid medicine field's development.
